About this item

"They Spent Their Wild Youthful Days In The Glittering World Of The Salons." is the second full-length album by Boston, MA, indie-rock band Swirlies. Originally released in April 1996, three years after their previous full-length, this was the group's first major recording effort after a change in half of Swirlies' lineup. Working again with engineer and co-producer Rich Costey, the band developed a wider scope of sound than the shoegaze and lo-fi pop which characterized their earlier releases, as "...Salons." makes heavier use of synthesizers, dance beats, and other electronic sounds, drawing comparisons to groups like Stereolab and their Krautrock forebears. Track Listing: 1. French Radio 2. In Harmony Newfound Freedom 3. No Identifier 4. Sounds Of Sebring 5. San Cristobal De Las Casas 6. You Can't Be Told It, You Must Behold It 7. Pony 8. Do Any Of You Know Anything About Love? 9. Two Girls Kissing 10. Sterling Moss 11. Boys, Protect Yourselves From Aliens 12. Sunn 13. The Vehicle Is Invisible
