Spiritkiller "The World Is Yours And You Can't Refuse It"

About this item

This World Is Yours and You Can’t Refuse It - the second LP from Albany, NY post-hardcore juggernaut Spiritkiller, finds them at their most focused and furious. Over the course of its twelve tracks the band weaves together their many influences into a singular sonic imprint that draws inspiration from the pounding grooves of 90’s hardcore and fuses them with the off kilter and experimental approach of 2000’s post hardcore and early screamo. These songs radiate a passion, urgency, and authenticity that is unique to Spiritkiller’s take on hardcore music and resonates well beyond the boundaries of genre. As much Snapcase and Refused as it is At The Drive in and Fugazi, This World Is Yours And You Cant Refuse It maintains the band’s signature precision and aggression in songwriting while offering a vibrant and kinetic emotional approach to their presentation. Both political and deeply personal in its subject matter, the album was written intentionally to serve as a snapshot of ordinary life in times of upheaval, uncertainty and anxiety. The LP is accompanied by a 32-page booklet/photographic essay meant to provide visual context for each track. For those in search of hardcore that expresses its feelings, pushes boundaries, and still lands as hard as a gut-punch, this is an album that will resonate deeply. TRACK LISTING: 01. Beautiful 02.
