Jenn X and Emma Geddon initially met via social media in late 2022 and became instant sisters, bonding over their mutual love of drag and dark music. Only a few days into their budding friendship, Emma offhandedly tossed out the idea of starting a project together that would combine these two creative pursuits. And, as fate would have it, Jenn was already yearning for the exact same thing. Despite living at opposite ends of California, the two goth queens began writing songs in 2023. They quickly discovered they possessed a rare and highly coveted level of musical synergy. They’d already completed rough mixes of their first two songs before even having the chance to meet in person for the first time. With the release of their debut EP, “Dragwave,” Resting on Pretty has set out to not only craft songs listeners can lose themselves to on the dance floor but also to serve as a lyrical haven for the beauty and unwavering power of drag and queerness.
